Problem Fixer: Thank you! I recently added Fanduel sports to one of my Roku players and all was good.
I then proceeded to install the same app on my other two roku players.
As previoulsy posted, it showed installed but did not appear on my home screen, Like you suggested I used my Roku app to help. I selected the roku device I wanted to work on, played around where I can delete the app. Then from the tv connected to the Roku device added it back to my menu. This time I could see it
Many thanks again!
I know this reply may be too late and hopefully you already solved your issue, but if not this is what worked for me!
EDITED 1/18/25: This fix was for a Roku TV.
Using your remote:
Go to "Settings">scroll down to "Home Screen">right arrow to "App Order"> right arrow to "Automatic" (which is set to Automatic by default)>down arrow to "Manual" and press "OK" to highlight it, then press OK to choose "Manual". Exit by pressing "Home" button on the remote.
Problem Solved... all apps now showing on Home menu!
You solved my problem
Thank you
Rick
Hey Rick, glad it worked for you!
Appreciate you
Thanks
What worked for me was to go into the Roku app on my iphone, then goto "Devices", then click on "Apps on Roku" and the YouTube app icon was present the way that it should've been on my Home Screen on my actual Roku and TV. Then I long-pressed / held-down the YT icon, and was taken to a screen where I finally had the option to "Remove" the app. Then when I searched for and reinstalled YT on my actual Roku on my TV screen, then it properly installed, properly placed the icon at the end of my app list, and was able to properly move the app icon back to where I wanted it in the App list on my Home Screen.
Note: The highly ranked solution describing "app order" and "automatic" vs "manual" did not work for me at all, because that setting simply did not exist anywhere in my Roku box settings in any of the menus at all, so I highly recommend the solution that I described above.
I don't know what model of Roku box you have, but this "App Order" setting absolutely does not exist at all on my Roku Ultra 4K model # 4800X, so I posted a solution that did work.
ProblemFixer… I love you! And thank you!
I read through this whole thing and there’s only two solutions. The first one no longer works because as RECENT posters in this thread stated it’s not an option in the settings to change the order of the Apps. I’m assuming that Roku removed this in the settings in the last couple of months since this post started 7 months ago and now I don’t see this option in my settings and recent posts say it’s not there. I guess that Carly is such a bot that it didn’t pick up on this or bother to research it at all? Roku please invest in better AI for your troubleshooting. It’s now 2025!
HOWEVER! The second option that does work is the one that ProblemFixer (Useername checks out) posted. Follow it to a “T” and it fixed my issue. My YouTube app is back on my Home Screen. It’s simply using a different device to remove the app on the Roku remotely. Then for some reason when I installed it the same way again, it worked this time just like ProblemFixer said.
Thank you so Much!
Thank you this solved my problem, I was able to follow your steps exactly. I my case and as you mentioned the high rated solution in this thread can't be followed because the steps do not appear anywhere on my device.
My fix wasn't really highly ranked or rated. My fix worked on a Roku TV and not a Roku box or player. At the time, I had no idea that the settings I mentioned were not accessible on other devices.
I'm glad your fix worked for you and some others. Kudos to you!
