Hi,

Is there a problem with the BBC iPlayer app?

For the past few days this app has not been working, it shows the BBC iPlayer logo and just hangs. All other apps work fine including BBC Sounds. I know that iPlayer is working from the BBC end because I can access it via my SKYQ box

I have a Roku 3.  A couple of days ago BBC I player stopped opening.  When I select it, nothing happens.  All the other channels are fine.  BBC support suggesting that I uninstall iPlayer and then reinstall it.  But they said that not all devices permit this.  Is this OK on Roku, and has anyone tried it with iPlayer?

Kindly follow the steps precisely below to help you:

1. Remove the channel: navigate to your Home screen, move to the right, highlight the app, press Star*, then select Remove channel
2. Perform a system reboot: navigate to your Home, select Settings > System > Power (skip if unavailable) > System restart
3. Re-install the channel: navigate to your Home, scroll and select Store, look for the app, then press Add channel

Thank you for your reply and suggestion.

I've tried the actions you've suggested but unfortunately the situation remains the same. After selecting the app the BBC iPlayer logo is displayed and the stays there, normally after a few seconds "Select who's watching ..." should appear. I've left the app at the BBC iPlayer logo for up to 5 minutes but nothing happens.

All the other apps I use are behaving normally including BBC SOUNDS and iPlayer works ok from my SKYQ set.

Since this is an isolated case within the BBC iPlayer app only, we highly recommend directly coordinating this with the channel provider, as they develop and maintain their app on the Roku streaming platform independently. This might be a bug within their app.
