My brand new Hisense UHD 4k roku tv keeps popping up an error on AMC+. We've had this tv for a few weeks and have been able to watch all new episodes of the walking dead, up until a couple weeks ago. Now this error pops up with multiple shows/movies on AMC “we’re sorry, something went wrong during playback of this content. Player error code: -6;error message: protected content license error”. Do I need to take my new tv back and get a different one or is this an AMC or roku issue???
When problems are confined to a particular channel, it may be that the channel didn't install properly, that it didn't update correctly, or that the installation has otherwise gotten corrupted. A reinstall may fix the problem, so give it a try.
Remove/reinstall procedure:
Hisense made your TV not Roku
Followed the instructions above, and am still getting the same error message. And only when trying to play TWD.
Open a support ticket with AMC+ support.
It's the same thing with me. And only with the walking dead. And that's the only reason I subscribed to AMC+
I contacted AMC+ support. They said they are aware of the error, and suggested I watch on my pc or iOS device. Been over a week since I contacted them. Seems like they should have resolved this by now.
Same issue with AMC+ here too, has anyone has their issue resolved with them?
Thanks for the inquiry.
For more information about that channel's error codes and functionality, you'll want to contact the channel provider support directly to inquire further. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.
Thanks,
Danny
I contacted them and they have forwarded to their technical team… I’ve been patiently waiting with no solution yet. Hoping it’s resolved soon! Fingers crossed.
