Did you mean:

Roku package alert popping up on my TV. NOT using a doorbell cam.

Roku camera package alert shows up in the lower right-hand corner of my TV.

Here's the thing, I am using a standard indoor roku camera (the wyze brand roku camera. The white about 2inch cube cam) And, the camera is in my den so I can watch my pets when I am away. This IS NOT a roku doorbell cam, which as I understand, is the only can that offers the TV notification and only after the doorbell has been pressed.

This started happening last night for the first time, yet I have had this cam and subscription for months now. Additionally, I have not touched the settings in as long a time.

Can anyone explain this to me?

Re: Roku package alert popping up on my TV. NOT using a doorbell cam.

Hi @BretPellicone,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

We appreciate you for letting us know that you are getting an event notification from your Roku Smart camera on your Roku TV even if you don't have a Roku Video doorbell. We would be more than willing to sort this out for you.

You're right, only the Roku Video Doorbell will send you an event notification from all Roku Smart Home cameras. In the meantime, we suggest you try the following:

  • Make sure your Roku Smart Home app is up to date.
  • Check the Roku Camera app for updates by following the steps below:
  1. Highlight the Roku Camera app
  2. Press Star (*) button
  3. Select Check for updates

Remove the Camera app: How to remove apps from your Roku streaming device

System restarts the Roku TV/device by going through Settings > Select System > Select Power. If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step > Select System restart

Add apps again to your Roku device:

  1. Press the Home button of your Roku remote.
  2. Scroll down to the Search tab
  3. Type in the channel name that you want to add.
  4. The result will be available on the right side of the TV screen.
  5. Select the channel and press the OK button on your Roku remote.
  6. Select Add app

We hope you find this information helpful. Please keep us posted.

Thanks,
Riamie
