Imagine thinking its not possible to hack a wifi camera without having access to the phone.  Thats a pretty big litigation for the future.   Also. It is 100% possible to gain access to any network at any time.  Even roku monitoring.  Just putting that out there.

Basically. The camera is doing a self reset and connecting to the network. Aka. Your phone. Even when its set to off.   If the camera is turning on by itself. Then change your roku account passwords. Its 100% possible to get access on another phone through the roku account itself.   If anything. Just use them when you are out of the house and unplug them when you are home.  They record audio and video on their servers for security purposes.   Its just like amazon and google devices.  Which both have been sued for invasion of privacy in the past.  

when in doubt. Unplug.  But even then. You never know if they have a small battery inside.

How can i put my cameras back to video i can seem to get it to take the video no more only picture

We have lost video off our app. Is it possible for video to disappear off the app. Like a app glitch or something? We also had an instance where we hear a phone call on our camera audio of a person we didn't know. We were watching/listening on the app 30 min away from our home. We heard a man talking on his phone to someone.

Well, that was a pretty copy-paste and useless time of a post.  There are several questions being raised as to why and how the cameras are turning on by themselves.  When no one has access and no one turned them back on when they were known to be shut off in the first place.  

So it would be nice to know how and why it is possible for people to illegally have access to our account and systems to be able to turn cameras on, when they are specifically shut off.  

Such as my account.  I shut off the cameras when I am home, but when I go to sleep, by the time I wake up, they are turned back on....  When I am at my desk working, I specifically check the cameras to turn them off one day.  Not even an hour later, they were back on and the light was orange, meaning someone was looking at the live video.  Because no event was recorded and the light was orange for quite a while...  

I an m highly suspecting that Roku accounts and their camera feeds are not secure at all.

Before proceeding, may we know how many videos disappeared from your Smart Home app? Does it include the recent videos? 

In this instance, we suggest rebooting the app by signing out and in again. If the issue still occurs, try to delete the app, restart your mobile phone, and then reinstall it again to see if it recovers all of the live recorded events. 

Furthermore, please be aware that the live recorded videos only last for 14 days unless you download them to your files.

Please be aware that even if you turn off your camera through the Smart Home app, once it detects motion, it will automatically turn on. 

Furthermore, would you mind providing us with a photo of the indication that your camera's light is orange? Because the Roku Smart Home camera displays red and blue colors only.

I’m currently having an issue with someone who’s hacked my phone and now I’m unraveling suspicious activities from downloaded apps. I now think my Roku camera is one. The person I “suspect” was in an area where my camera was recording and conveniently that entire event hour never recorded but everything after that did! I usually have between 10-15 13 second events normally during that time of day. I changed my WiFi password-not sure what else to do. 
Nothing scarier than feeling like someone’s watching and controlling my devices.

100% this is a scammy product.  I went into the hardware on one of mine and found malicious code that was trying to brute force into my wifi as well.  But luckily, I'm a retired cyber security specialist.  

Roku cameras are all accessible by their staff within their "monitoring" teams.  Which are conveniently all located overseas.  There is no reason why anyone should be forced to pay a subscription for basic software that leaves people second-guessing who is watching and who has access.
