Roku camera doorbell Failed to connect with 2nd mobile device

Jump to solution

I just purchased a Roku doorbell to replace my Ring doorbell but Ring was so much easier to setup.  I have followed the instructions provided by Roku support to no avail.  I only chose it because I have several Roku TVs in my home and thought it would be useful to get added functionality of viewing notifications on TV but I can't even get the basics to work.

Attached is the generic and unfortunately useless message that I receive when trying to connect from the 2nd mobile device.

Hi @Hamstring3258,

Thanks for posting in the Roku Community!

We noticed in your post that you were not able to connect your Roku Video doorbell to your second mobile device using the Roku Smart Home app. Don't worry we are here to assist you with this concern.

We suggest you try the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Check if your mobile device is up to date.
  • Make sure the Roku Smart Home app is running the latest version by visiting your app store.

    • iOS: Open the App Store® on your iOS device and search for "Roku Smart Home mobile app", or visit the online App Store and download the latest version.
    • Android: Open the Google Play store on your Android device and search for "Roku Smart Home mobile app", or visit the online Google Play store and download the latest version.
  • Test your Roku camera Wi-Fi range.
If your device has no bars or one bar, try moving or mounting it closer to your router.
      1. Tap Home from the navigation bar
      2. Select your device
      3. Tap Settings in the corner
      4. Select Device info
      5. Check the three bars to see the signal quality

We hope you find this information helpful. Please let us know if the issue persists.
