Intermittent notifications

Jump to solution

I just signed up for a Roku subscription so I could record motion.  My camera only notifies and records roughly 1/3 events.  Is there a time lag?  I walked into the room at 10:16 and got notified and have a recording, but when I went in a minute later nothing.  I know the camera is working because I'm holding my phone looking at myself as I walk into the room  Any help is appreciated!

Hi @shellrudp,

Welcome to the Roku Community, and thanks for the inquiry!

We'll be more than happy to assist you further. Detection sensitivity determines whether a big movement, low sensitivity, or small movement, high sensitivity, is needed to trigger a motion event. If you only want an alert when the movement of a large object is detected, lower the sensitivity. If your camera is monitoring a small area, increase the sensitivity.

You can adjust detection sensitivity settings in the Roku Smart Home mobile app for iOS and Android.

  1. Tap Home from the navigation bar.
  2. Select your camera or doorbell.
  3. Tap Settings in the corner.
  4. Tap Detection settings.
  5. Move the slider(s) to adjust detection sensitivity settings.

When you are done, your changes are saved automatically.

Please try doing this and see if it helps with what you're experiencing.
