Re: Hacking My Ruko device by a Guy directly above me

Hi @jonestanya,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

We understand that someone is hacking your Roku device. Please be advised that Roku streaming devices can't be hacked. You can change your wireless password, then reboot your router to break any existing connections. Once it's back up, connect your wireless devices using the new password, and odds are the person messing with you will be locked out.

On the other hand, you can try performing a factory reset on your device to see if that will make a difference. To do this, please follow the instructions below:

Perform the following steps with your Roku remote or the Roku mobile app:

  1. Press Home on your Roku remote.
  2. Scroll and select Settings.
  3. Select System.
  4. Select Advanced System Settings.
  5. Select Factory reset.
  6. If you have a Roku TV, select Factory reset everything. Otherwise, move on to the next step.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions.

For more information, check out this link: How to system restart or factory reset your Roku® streaming device.

Please keep us posted on how it goes.

Regards,

Chel

Yes they can, anything can be hacked, trust me, even Rokus.(They run Linux, which isn’t hard to get into.) Though, this just sounds like the usual someone getting into your Wi-Fi and messing with it wirelessly, not a hack.
