Hi @Juniamaia,
Thanks for your first post in the Roku Community!
We get that your Roku Outdoor Camera SE battery drains too fast. No worries, we're here to help you with this.
Here are the common factors that can negatively impact the battery life of Roku Outdoor Cameras.
- Frequently watching the live stream, or keeping the live stream open for long periods of time.
- Using Scheduled Recording for long periods of time.
- Running a Time Lapse.
- Having Motion Detection getting triggered frequently.
Your camera's rechargeable battery will last 3 to 6 months with normal use. Here are some tips for better battery life.
- Limit how often you view the live video stream
- Limit the use of scheduled recordings and time-lapse videos
- Install your camera in a low-traffic area when motion detection is enabled
We highly recommend you try the following troubleshooting steps below:
- Make sure both the Roku Outdoor Camera SE (Battery) and Roku Base Station are updated to the latest firmware.
- Make sure the battery is fully charged before testing. A full charge from 0-100% takes ~4 hours.
- Check the signal strength of the Roku Outdoor Camera SE (Battery) and reposition the camera or base station to make sure it’s at 3 bars for testing.
If the issue persists please provide us with the following details:
- Does the battery drain happen at the very beginning or after a period of time?
- Log ID: In the Roku Smart Home app, tap Account > Roku Support > Submit a Log.
- Mac ID of the camera (This can be located at the bottom of the camera.)
We look forward to your response.
Regards,
Riamie
