Doorbell camera no notifications
I had been reading a thread from last September 2024 about the doorbell camera not sending notifications. None of the proposed solutions worked and the thread was closed. I am starting this thread hoping it will help other users. Needless to say, Roku support is not the greatest.
In my case, the doorbell suddenly stopped working for no reason. I tried to delete it from my phone and add it again. The deletion did not work. I then installed the app on my iPad and was able to delete it.
The next step is to uninstall and reinstall the app on the mobile device. Then add the doorbell. If not done in this order, the doorbell won’t work properly.
After adding, I now was not getting notifications even though the settings were correct. I then checked the app in my phone settings and saw that notifications were NOT ALLOWED! Imagine an app that does not communicate with itself!
Once the setting was changed, notifications worked again. Needless to say, Roku’s tech engineers need to get to work. The doorbell had been working fine for months and support can never tell us why devices suddenly stop working. This was a simple fix that I found on my own. Hope it helps other users.
