Camera not recording, only taking images

how is it possible that I never have a problem then out of nowhere it took a still shot when it never does. It recorded her coming in but not coming out from the other side of my room. And it always does. So it recorded her coming in n going to other side of room. Next 1 still photo of her coming out not video? But why?  Next video of her bent over by the camera plug so it didn’t show her coming out from the corner room and going to other side by the camera plug in. I’m assuming she unplugged then re plugged it so it lost the footage of her n only took a photo n started recording when she was by the cameras to unplug it. She has stolen from me before and I she stole something again. She isn’t suppose to be in my room especially on the other side. Please help. I don’t have issues with camera except this one time

Re: Camera not recording, only taking images

Hi @jessicagraf2019,

Welcome to the Roku Community!

Thank you for letting us know that your Roku camera is not video recording events and is just showing images. No worries, we would be more than willing to assist you with this.

Let's see if this will work for you:

Uninstall the Roku Smart Home app and when logging back in after you reinstall the app, we suggest you try the following:
  1. At the app's log-in screen, do not click "Sign in as" when the email address is already filled in.
  2. Instead, click "Use a different Roku account" at the bottom.
  3. Enter the email address (use the same one as it showed up on the previous page).
  4. Enter the account password and hit Sign in.
This will sign in as new again and bypass the saved credentials. After signing in, leave the smart home app lock the phone trigger motion on the camera, and see if you will get an event recording now. (event/notification may take up to a minute to come through)

We hope to get this sorted out soon. Please let us know if the issue persists.

Cheers,
Riamie
