Trouble Understanding Your Subscription charges? We Can Help!
Hi Community users,
This post is designed to help you understand any charges or subscriptions you see on your account.
Important Note: Roku itself never charges for your Roku account or customer support.
Is the Charge from Roku?
-
Check your billing statement for the following terms:
- "Roku"
- "Roku for <app/provider>"
- "The Roku Channel"
If you see any of these, the charge is from Roku.
If the charge is listed under a different name, it’s not from Roku. In that case, contact your bank for more details.
Is it a Subscription from Another Streaming Service?
- Some streaming services bill you directly. If the charge is from one of these services, you’ll need to reach out to them for any billing questions. To make it easier, we have a list of channel providers' support websites to help you find the right contact.
How to Find Your Active Roku Subscriptions
- On the Roku Website: Sign in to my.roku.com and go to "My Subscriptions." to manage your subscriptions.
- On a Roku Device: Go to the channel, select "Manage Subscription," and you’ll see the renewal date and other options. If you don’t see this, the charge isn’t from Roku.
- Roku Mobile App: Go to "Account" then "Payments & Subscriptions" to see and manage your Roku subscriptions.
Review your subscriptions and other charges:
- Free Trial: Free trials automatically convert to paid subscriptions. Be sure to cancel before the last day of the trial to avoid charges, you must cancel your subscription on or before the trial’s final day.
- Multiple users: If you share your Roku device, you may want to set up a Roku PIN to prevent unauthorized purchases.
- Multiple accounts: You might have more than one Roku account. Be sure to check other accounts for purchases or subscriptions.
- $1.00 charge on your credit or debit card: This is likely a temporary hold to verify your payment method and will be refunded.
Unsure about a charge?
Review your purchase history to help identify the charge.
If you still don’t recognize the charge, contact customer support. If the charge is not from Roku, reach out to your bank or credit card company.
