f Roku is free, why does Roku require a credit card? I tried to download Roku app and it will not let me complete download w/o credit card info. No thanks. Others are really free.

Are you sure you are downloading the official Roku app? There are many 3rd party ones that require a fee. You don't mention if you have Android or iPhone.

I went to where you suggested and there is an answer there. My take-away: sign up with credit card and once signed up, go in an delete credit card. Why require one in the first place? Roku could show [I don't know how they do as I can't get app] cost for various subscriptions and then require credit card. I don't want my card on file anywhere.
