Hello, I put a subscription in direct for Newsman Plus and was billed $4.99 from Cleeng on 11/23/23. When I reviewed my Discover bill I saw where you also billed me and I, for sure, did not place an order thru ROKU. I never placed any other channel subscription with you, but instead went direct....Netflix was direct. I am asking for a refund for this subscription. You had no business jumping in on this. Please advise. Thank you
Sharon Brommer
Log into your Roku user account (https://my.roku.com) and look under subscriptions. If you find this subscription listed, you can cancel it right there. Roku will cancel it when the current subscription expires (usually it's on a monthly basis). Roku typically will not refund properly made subscriptions, but under some circumstances they might consider it. You would need to contact the subscription office (https://support.roku.com/contactus/abo).
Now, if you don't find a matching subscription on your user account, then Roku did not bill you. It doesn't matter if your CC statement says it was Roku, because scammers can enter whatever they want on the billing submission. Roku cannot assist you with this, as it's an issue of credit card fraud and only your bank can assist. The most important thing to do is to contest the charge and ask your CC provider to cancel your card and issue a new one (with a new number). If one scammer has your CC information, you can be sure that others do as well.
