Streaming Stick + will not display home page menu or apps

I have a Steaming Stick + that I have owned for several years. In the last week or so, upon starting, the home screen displays but only the wallpaper, nothing else.  The menu, apps, ads are no longer on the screen. I did perform a hard reboot a few days ago which, of course, requires me to add every app back and long into every app. It happened again last night, just wallpaper. I can open apps through voice commands as well as select apps from the preselect buttons at the bottom of the remote. I really don't want to have to hard reboot again as it is a pain to change all settings and add the apps back.  I have three different Roku devices and never had this happen before.  Any suggestions are appreciated.
