Stuck on language selection screen

Just purchased two new Roku streaming sticks that arrived as bricks... they go through the whole set up process, only to get stuck in a loop at the language selection screen. This also just happened with my pre-existing stick. I see that this issue was chronic a couple of years ago, and still appears to be very common, with no resolution in place & tons of frustrated users.  WTF?!?!? the second one I bought as "new" arrived clearly as one that was used, and likely failed for the previous buyer, only to be put back in circulation. Why isnt this issue resolved??? I keep buying bricks 🧱 😠
