Roku Stick 3811X no power, no light

I'm having the same issue with my Roku 3811X.  No power light, no signal to HDMI port on TV, no ability to connect to the device using the Android app.  What I have done:

Confirmed that my Roku TV in another room responds to the app so the phone and app aren't the issue

Tried different power supply with sufficient capacity to operate device; still doesn't show in app.

Tried connecting the power cable to the only USB port on my TV, same result as above.

Tried different HDMI connections on my non-Roku TV along with different power supplies; no power light, no signal to TV, no connection with Android app.

Noted that Roku stick feels warm (not hot) to the touch after a few minutes of connection to a different power supply but no light or connection with the app.

I've read and followed the applicable recommendations on the webpage suggested earlier in this thread.  I do not have another TV to connect this device to.  

 

It appears that the device is bricked.  Any suggestions short of buying a new unit?  If not, trying an Amazon Firestick seems like a better alternative than buying another Roku stick that will just do the same thing at some point in time.

    Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The trouble you are experiencing with the Roku Streaming device is that it is not functioning. We appreciate all the steps you have taken to resolve the issue and apologize for any inconvenience this issue has caused you. That's not what we aim for.

    We'd be more than happy to look into this further. For us to help you better, we will ask a set of questions to isolate the issue:

    • When did you first notice this problem?
    • Have any recent changes to your Roku device setup or your network provider that could be related?
    • Have you tried using the USB power adapter that came with your Roku stick or a power adapter from a phone or tablet plugged into a wall outlet?

    However, many Roku streaming players require that they are connected to a wall power outlet using a power adaptor. Alternatively, some Roku streaming players, including the current generation models, can be powered from the USB port on a compatible TV.

    Note: The USB port on some TVs may be unable to power a Roku streaming player.

    If your streaming player still does not power on, the problem may be with the power adaptor. If the warranty has expired, a new power adapter can be purchased from the Roku accessories store.

      Thanks for responding.  I did try to be clear in my description of the problem and troubleshooting process.

       

      Q.  When did you first notice this problem? 

      A.  Just before posting last night.  The device and TV it was connected to had not been used for approximately 2 weeks prior to that.


      Q.  Have any recent changes to your Roku device setup or your network provider that could be related?  A.  None to the Roku setup and no provider changes that that I know of.


      Q.  Have you tried using the USB power adapter that came with your Roku stick or a power adapter from a phone or tablet plugged into a wall outlet? 

      A.  Yes.  I've tried the Roku power supply plugged into a wall outlet and 2 different power strips.  Likewise, a Samsung power supply with amperage rating greater than the Roku power supply, also tried plugged into the same sources as above.  Last, the Roku USB cable connected to the only USB output port on my TV.  All yielded the same result, no power light, no connection with the app.  The only difference is that when connected to the Samsung power supply (known good, I charge my phone with it) the Roku became faintly warm.
