Roku Ready TCL TV with defective remote

I have a Roku Ready TCL TV Model 55S451 and some of the buttons on the remote stopped working. I did the infrared test in the dark with my cell phone that confirmed it. I have a newer Roku stand alone stick that I installed in the HDMI 1 slot but it won't shut the TV on or off or control the sound but does everything else. I will go to Walmart where I bought the TV and get ANOTHER stand alone Roku stick and see if that does the trick. If all else fails I will buy a new TV and scrap the TCL with built in Roku. Awful.

Anyone have any suggestions?
