Roku 4 is unable to see the home page

Earlier today, our Roku 4 quit showing the home page.  Our internet is working fine.  I've tried rebooting (power off/on) multiple times since seeing the app outage is resolved, but no luck.  I have multiple Roku 4 devices, and none are working.

Could the earlier app issue be related?

    Hey there! SquidRoku

I understand your Roku 4 device isn't showing the home page. Please try unplugging the Roku device for at least 10 seconds before plugging it back in.

Let us know if that works!

The Roku 4 is no longer supported by Roku. It was the only model that used that specific CPU and board, and Roku moved in a different direction with newer players. It is also the only 4K player that doesn't support HDR. It's now 10 years old, and you should consider replacing it. I stopped using mine years ago, mostly because of its lack of HDR support.

  • Agreed. I guess my Roku streaming device did an update and now when I go to the home screen, I’ve have no apps to choose from. It’s blank. I restarted it. I got the apps back but soon as I clicked on Max and got out it went blank again. Then I went to settings home screen nothing happens, so I can’t revert it back to the prior home screen. This is a little ridiculous.

Strange that their primary device support page doesn't list Roku at all. But the OS version will certainly cause an issue with the Roku 4.

For some reason HBO MAX no longer shows Roku devices on their support page, which is odd since they still offer an app in the Roku channel store. But my guess is they have done the same as Disney and no longer support the Roku 4 specifically.

I couldn’t see any of my apps on the Home Screen yesterday afternoon. I performed a system restart and then I also unplugged it and plugged it back in.  In frustration I gave up yesterday and just quit using it.

        Today it’s working fine.
