Roku 3 is stuck on logo screen
Out of nowhere, my Roku 3 is stuck on the Roku screen. Have tried all the fixes I can find e.g. unplugging Roku, unplugging router and Roku, switching hdmi, resetting and all result in the same scree...

My Roku 4210 has the same issue - it's stuck on the Roku logo screen with a blinking white light. I've power cycled several times, including my router, but it doesn't make it past the loading screen. Yeah, the device is old, but it's worked well til now. Wondering if an update was pushed out that it can't handle... Probably time to retire it...Poor li'l thing got me thru the pandemic and everything!
Yeah, the 4210 is now over ten years old, so it's done pretty well for a consumer electronic device. My original Roku 2 XS didn't last 5 years before it couldn't run most of the available apps.
I'm seeing others report the same issue in the last couple of days - must have been an update that didn't work for these units. Either way, it's prob time to thank it for it's service and move on!
it was definitely an update... it's happening to everyone at once... check the other posts, everyone is experiencing the same issue just recently... mine was working perfectly, it started to get stuck couple of weeks ago, power disconnect make it work, but now is completely stuck and nothing is working... exactly as the others are saying... definitely there was an update that screwed up everyone... so frustrating, I am moving to FireStick!
I have a new Roku Ultra LT waiting in a box for when my Roku 3 officially dies or becomes too erratic, but lately it is the most locking up it has ever done and it does seem like it's related to an update, but I didn't start having any issues until I reordered some tiles, more than a month since the last update in July. I'm not stuck on the logo screen but going out of screensaver randomly it will go blank showing only the theme color then reboots itself-- it held up for 5 days after I changed the screensaver from "floating circles" to "roku city".
I notice on reboots the Roku 3 seems to struggle rendering the tiles from large mode to "small" which is what I have set for a long time. Today I also experienced the remote stopped responding but after 2 reboots it worked again (unplugging to reboot), then in one app the "back" button stopped working while it still worked inside Netfllx, a reboot fixed that too.
A lot of wonky-ness definitely happening, I even considered if it's over-heating since it's warm where I live but this issue never happens while streaming, only upon waking up or I guess messing with app tiles since deleting app or pressing * to see details also caused the lock/crash/reboot.
I just fixed my super old Roku 3 following the hard reset (factory reset) instructions above. Exactly same issues as you described... is now back to normal.
