There are multiple posts on this feature request. What is the timeline looking like? My friends and family using Apple TV, Chromecast, or Amazon FireTV don't have to deal with this.....

Are you aware of it Riami? Really? Been over 2 years of this request, it takes 10 min to fix the feature.

It's there because some marketing iddy ott decided it was a good idea.
There were probably a team of talented engineers toiling away at making a great app when this one marketing wingnut came in and said "Hey, let's put in this QR code thingy!". The engineers all looked at each other and replied with very logical reasons why that would make for a bad user experience. Wingnut replies with "Yeeeah... if you could still put that in it would be greeeat.". - krkaufmanChannel Surfer

AT LEAST remove the QR code from displaying over streams of user-uploaded content, since, obviously, the user knows how to upload content.
How about a compromise and keep the QR code for the stock photo stream, displayed absent available user-uploaded content, but free our uploaded image streams of this menace?

I am waiting for the developer of the Photoview app to update the app. The recent Roku updates broke it. It's a much better way to view photos. https://www.photoviewapp.com/faq/#upgrade

Thanks. That Roku doesn't seem able to address the simple task of removing the QR code in the year+ since requested, combined with the many other limitations I've found since starting to use the app, finding an alternate Roku app or streaming platform other than Roku seems a path more likely to lead to something usable.
