I am in agreement.
Roku needs to make lighted remotes for ALL of their models!

Hi Sorento0214
Thanks for the post.
We don't have that kind of remote at the moment, but thanks for the suggestion. Feel free to keep an eye on our blog at https://www.roku.com/blog for any future announcements or updates.
Thank you for choosing Roku and have a great day!
All the best,

This is the one thing that I completely dislike about my Roku. I've looked for a backlit remote control but cannot find one. It's so surprising that this isn't included in any remote. I mean, it's basic tech & something that's been around for a long time. I think customers would eagerly buy these if you'd bring your remotes up to date.

100% agree. This is not an unreasonable Request.

I'm disappointed in Roku that the company did not conceptionalize and implement this idea.

Just adding my agreement it makes this very annoying. How is it that I can get a third party backlit remote for $7 at the drugstore but Roku can't give me a remote that has backlit

I just got a Roku TV and the reason I'm here is because I am crazed from not being able to see the remote buttons in the dark. I try to pause or fast fwd and end up on Netflix. Don't tell me that you can't come out with a proper lit remote. For crying out loud. I'd pay $10 more for my set up. I'm literally willing to buy another remote! Roku, just frickin' make one!!!

Roku doesnt provide such a remote, but there are third-party IR-only (wont work with the Stick models) universal/Roku pre-programmed remotes with backlit functionality that can obtained from Walmart/Best Buy/Amazon/etc.
E.g. https://www.amazon.com/GE-Universal-Panasonic-Streaming-6-Device/dp/B088X6DRWJ

Roku has been around for long enough that their remotes should having backlighting. Or at least glow in the dark buttons!

Really? I have to have this comment reviewed by a moderator? Don't you people already moderate every review anyway?!

What a let down..One of the most desirable features left out of a otherwise decent remote. We need a backlit, voice activated, USB remote. Come on you all.

Hard to believe after switching from my cable company to these streaming devices in 4 locations with a total of 15 Roku Ultra streaming players and NO BACKLIT remotes. I feel like George Jetson stuck with a Fred Flintstone remote. I mean, really?

This remote drives me crazy in the dark! I can't believe that customers have been complaining about this for years and nothing has been done.

Amazon has one! It's called Roku remote with backlight. Also, they sell glow in the dark sleeves at Walmart, Amazon, etc for the Roku remote. I'd search "glow in the dark sleeves for broke remote". I hope this info helps! Here's the link to the one on Amazon with the blacklight.
- crrwChannel Surfer
Thanks for the info, but the problem with the Roku remotes w/backlight on Amazon is they reduce functionality (example: you loose voice functions). The glow in the dark sleeves don't illuminate the buttons, which a backlit remote would do. Also, the problem with both of them is you can't utilize the headphones. Solving a problem with a problem doesn't really address the issue.
There's absolutely no reason, other than cheapness, that Roku hasn't implemented this technology in their remotes. What other reason could it be? Adding a backlight would cost them money, and they just want to rake in as much profit as they can. So, even though their customers want this & the technology is readily available, they ignore both.
- scottatlBinge Watcher
It does not have to cost the money. They could easily contract it out. I really don't understand the business decision behind not having a premium remote.

*Roku not broke! Sorry about that!
