Hi Sorento0214
Thanks for the post.
We don't have that kind of remote at the moment, but thanks for the suggestion. Feel free to keep an eye on our blog at https://www.roku.com/blog for any future announcements or updates.
Thank you for choosing Roku and have a great day!
All the best,

This is the one thing that I completely dislike about my Roku. I've looked for a backlit remote control but cannot find one. It's so surprising that this isn't included in any remote. I mean, it's basic tech & something that's been around for a long time. I think customers would eagerly buy these if you'd bring your remotes up to date.

100% agree. This is not an unreasonable Request.

Hey Roku! A backlit remote is long overdue. Amazon Fire Cube now offers one and if I wasn’t a long time dedicated Roku user I would make the switch just for that feature alone. Please come out with one ASAP!

It’s been driving me crazy. I ended up cutting a tiny square brightly colored piece of a post it note on the play button and feeling my way around using that as a base. Pretty sad.

Seems aftermarket Roku covers are glow in the dark. ..

💯agree! I really want a Roku remote that has backlighting, with the voice search option, as well as the ability to make the 4 streaming service buttons changeable, to put in your top 4 used streaming services! For me it would be Hulu, Amazon Prime, Peacock and Disney Plus. Even better? Make it 6 or 8 buttons! Then I can also add Netflix and Paramount Plus! Also, including the stickers to be able to put on the buttons would be amazing too! Preferably with like 4 of each sticker in case you wear one out. This is 2023 Roku! GET WITH THE TIMES!! Any one else that would like to see this all in a remote from Roku??

I'm disappointed in Roku that the company did not conceptionalize and implement this idea.

Just adding my agreement it makes this very annoying. How is it that I can get a third party backlit remote for $7 at the drugstore but Roku can't give me a remote that has backlit

I agree completely. I love the Roku remote, I don't want a 3rd party copy nor a compromise one just to get back lighting. Roku. Just make a backlit remote. You will sell 1000's

I see a lot of people with Roku's are looking for a remote that lights up in the dark. We are new with ROKU and I WHOLE HEARTEDLY agree. I know there is an "always-on" audio option, but I have never met anyone that would trust that!! Press and hold for audio would be fine.
In 15-20 yrs, my TV and Sound Systems had remotes that would illuminate at night when picked up.

I just got a Roku TV and the reason I'm here is because I am crazed from not being able to see the remote buttons in the dark. I try to pause or fast fwd and end up on Netflix. Don't tell me that you can't come out with a proper lit remote. For crying out loud. I'd pay $10 more for my set up. I'm literally willing to buy another remote! Roku, just frickin' make one!!!

Any updates? Is this in the works?
Fire TV's have lighted remote buttons. Roku has been around a lot longer than those, so why don't you offer the same?
I'm trying to find a reason to stay with Roku, but the list of reasons to stay is SHORT. Can you please bring your tech up to the standards of early 2000's?

This request is years old. What's the hold up? I'd buy two of these remotes, so boom, easy money. There are generic remotes that light up that work with Roku and can be purchased on Amazon, but they DON'T have voice commands. So make one and charge $29 each, I'd happily order two.

That's what I'm saying! Jeez what they are doing that's taking them FOREVER to make a voice command back lit remote is beyond me, and logic.

At this point even if Roku makes one I’d still get 3rd party like this:
Replacement Backlit TV Remote Control for Roku TV, for TCL/Hisense/Sharp/Philips/Onn/Element/Insignia/Westinghouse Roku TV (NOT for Roku Stick or Box) https://a.co/d/3YfcalE
Note that it’s only applicable to the TV and not the sticks due to it being IR only.
