Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have a specific question to ask. We recently moved to an apartment building that offers Comcast TV. There are no set-top boxes or DVRs, only an Xfinity wall box with coax and HDMI connectors. We have 2 TVs in 2 separate rooms, each room with its own wall box. One TV is an LG and the other is a Sharp Roku TV, Model LC-24LB601U, that's a few years old. I've connected both TVs to the wall boxes by HDMI. The LG can access Comcast, Roku, YouTube, and other streaming services such as BritBox. I've paired an Xfinity XR2 remote with it to navigate the Comcast channels.
The Sharp Roku TV is another story. Its own remote does what it should, and it receives the Xfinity input on HDMI 1. However, there is no way to navigate the Comcast channels: the Roku remote has no effect on the Comcast input. I've tried pairing the XR2 remote with the TV using numerous codes, but if it pairs it can only control the power and volume. I have to use the Roku remote to get from the Home page to the Cable/HDMI 1 input, but no pairing of the Comcast remote will navigate the channels there.
Is there any Xfinity remote that can actually be paired with the Sharp Roku TV so as to select the Comcast channel? Or is there any other remote that can do this? If not, that's that, but I'd really like to know for sure.
