new roku ultra / hisense 55 xumo tv - no voice controlled volume

Remote is set to tv and volume and mute work with buttons - but I cannot use voice control to change volume level or mute the TV. 

 

any ideas?

    The Ultra (which is receiving and acting upon the voice commands) can only control the volume via CEC.  I don't know if it's necessary or if it will make a difference, but try using "CEC setup" under Settings->Remotes & devices->Remotes->[your remote].  If you can't get the remote to work with "CEC setup" then I think it's unlikely voice control will ever work.
