New pairing not working

I have a steaming stick and a proscan tv.  When we first got the stick everything worked.  The remote worked well and paired with the tv for on/of and volume control.  We accidently washed the remote with our bed sheets.   

The remote still works but now there is a new paring system and it doesn't recognize our tv brand anymore.  I thought it might be the controller we messed up but I bought a new one because I thought the washed one wouldn't work and that one doesn't pair with the tv either.  It worked before but with the new pairing it doesn't. HELP!!!

      It doesn’t work like that.  There is no way to choose a brand.  Now you just “press next” until the music stops  there’s something like 40 channels and if the music doesn’t stop for any of them it says you tv isn’t supported   But it use to be

        new update.  at the end of the "Music" sync it says Sorry, it seems like this Sensui TV will not work with a Roku remote.  

        Which is odd because the old way did and it's the same stick, same TV, and I tried the same remote.   What the **bleep** roku????
