Need help choosing a TV

Hello,
I really need help choosing a tv... We have space for a 65 inch tv and after going to both Costco and Best Buy and talking to the sales persons there, we bought an LG Class G4 OLED with Best Buy for $2,000. However, we are seriously thinking it was a mistake and that we shouldn't have spent so much on a TV. We do want a good quality, less chance for problems down the road TV, but something that doesn't cost this much. Any insight and help would be appreciated! Thank you!

OLED sets are more expensive, period. But for that higher price you generally get a far better image (especially black levels). $2k is a lot of money for a 65" TV today, but if you want the best possible picture you likely made a good purchase. Checking Amazon I see the same price on the same TV. But there are less expensive OLED sets on the Best Buy website. Without making a more in-depth analysis I can't say what is lost going to a lower priced model or gained with the higher cost of your current set. I do see your current model has a 5 year panel warranty, so that's a plus. They also claim a higher brightness level for better viewing in lit rooms.

  • I am a former AV sales exec and have owned a 55" LG OLED for years. Previous to that I owned Panasonic Plasma which were the best in class during that time period. The LG OLED is head and shoulders above plasma and the company is the leader with this tech. That said, you might have chosen a smaller screen size and spent less, though I plan to upgrade to the same TV you have in the near future. The other thing you'll find is that LG consistently releases WebOS and other updates for years

  • PS..just noticed Best Buy has the 48" OLED for $550 so if you're able to return and exchange, it will put money back in your pocket..pretty amazing deal regardless of size
