I am connected with an HDMI cable, and is brand new. However it is an older Blu-ray/ DVD player
Thanks for the info. rapforcier
Do you have another TV you can test with your Blu-ray DVD player? If so, try connecting it and playing to see if the video quality is the same.
Let us know how it goes.

About a month ago, prior to buying this TV, we had a 55" Westinghouse and the video from the DVD was fine. So it's looking like I made a mistake buying a larger TV. Guess I'll try finding a DVD/Blue-Ray player that upscales to see if that helps.

Unfortunately, the larger you go, the more likely the flaws in older formats start to show. Upscaling will help some, but will only do so much, especially with video that is prior to high definition.
