Cable TV roku tv work together

I have Charter spectrum internet and cable tv. I am fixing to buy a roku TV - will my cable still be connected and i will be able to watch my cable tv?

    Soonermooney You can use Spectrum cable with a Roku TV.  You can choose to keep your Spectrum Cable box and use the Spectrum remote to change cable channels.  If you choose that method I suggest going into settings, power, and set power on channel to the input the cable box is connected to.  You can program your Spectrum cable box remote to turn on the Roku TV and control volume.  When you turn on the Roku TV with thre Spectrum remote it will open the Roku TV to the correct input and you proceed just as you would with a non-smart TV.

    If you want to save the monthly fee for a cable box you can install the Spectrum App on your Roku TV and use that to watch all of your Spectrum cable channels.

I gave up my Spectrum TV boxes over a year ago and exclusively watch Spectrum through the app on the Roku.  As long as you have Spectrum TV service you can watch Spectrum with the app.  I also use Cloud DVR as part of Spectrum as well, so with the exception of a few hiccups once in a while on the service, it records channels just as though you had a Spectrum box, with the major difference between the app and the Spectrum boxes is the way you change channels as you can't input channel numbers and change that way.  I am hopeful that Spectrum will, maybe, will add that feature in the future to the app.  You have to scroll the guide or use favorites instead. 

I forgot to mention giving up the Spectrum boxes and just using the app will save a chunk of change each month, depending on how many you have and if they are DVR boxes.
