I've noticed the same thing with VR Pro (2nd ed) on an Ultra 4800.

VR Pro on Streaming Stick 4K+ 3821 still pops up the notice.

Sounds like an update needs to happen on their end to resolve this issue. It was a nice function to indicate battery health.

        Hi dishtech007,

Thanks for posting in the Roku Community!

We would like to take a closer look at your concern with the Roku remote issue, which is that the battery level indicator does not show on the TV screen.

What is your Roku device's model and remote's type? Is this the original remote?

We look forward to your response.

        Cheers,
        The Roku Community Team

Does the remote work when you replace the batteries?  Are they completely dead?  I'm assuming this is a voice remote because simple remotes never showed the battery level.

Yes, of course the remote works. The question is about the battery life indicator not displaying on the screen “when removing and replacing batteries”.
