Roku Battery Powered Camera stopped working after 2 weeks.

I bought a battery powered camera which does not work now. I did the troubleshooting steps twice which included factory resetting. I requested support from Roku and explained all the detailed but only got messages from them with no guidance. The most recent message was them saying they “had an update”. I asked what it was and then they ghosted me. Don’t buy their cameras!!

    Hi there! Username6711

We understand your Roku Camera stopped working after just two weeks, and we’d love to help. Could you let us know:

    • Where and when you purchase this camera?
    • Have you tried any steps to fix it?
    • Can you share a quick photo of the info label on the bottom of the camera?
    • Are you seeing any error code on the Roku Smart home app?

Hi, bought the camera from Roku on Amazon. Was connected as an outdoor camera working fine for 2 weeks. All of a sudden it stopped working and saying “no connection”. There was an error code stating no connection but its not there at the moment because I removed the camera from the app.

Went through the Roku troubleshooting steps for this issue twice, including the factory reset.  During one of these resets, at one point it wouldn’t even connect back to the app at all but we resolved that somehow.

Thanks for the extra details, Username6711!

We'd like to know, are there any recent firmware updates that you can recall before this happened? Also, if possible, can you please share the latest firmware version of the app?

We hope to hear from you soon!

  • Hi! Username6711

It's frustrating that your Roku battery camera stopped working after just two weeks and support has been unhelpful. Since factory resets didn't fix it, the best next step is to fully charge the battery, restart the camera from the app, or unplug and replug it. If it still won't work, consider escalating the issue or seeking a replacement, as the "update" mentioned might have caused a glitch. Avoid buying Roku cameras until this is resolved clearly by their support.

Thanks Hinave! It’s sad, because we were literally just going to purchase more of these cameras to replace some of our Wyze ones (because me and my husband loved that we can monitor our chickens and yard from our Roku TV). Too bad the first one is utterly useless!

Hopefully no predators attack the coop that cam was monitoring in the meantime.
