Disney Keeps Charging Me...

Cancelled my subscription.  Disney kept charging me.  Cancelled my Disney account and Hulu Account, Disney kept charging me.  Cancelled my credit card - Disney finally stopped charging me.

Updated my Roku account with a new credit card, Disney charges me the next day.  This does not show up in my Roku account, nor do I have an account with Hulu or Disney.

Somewhere is a computer where its sole purpose is to charge me for Disney, and Roku keeps giving them my credit card number.  This is 100% not okay, and it needs to stop, or I cancel Roku.

  • Your post said: "A chrge or hold for $3.23 on July 02, 2025 was placed on your Quicksilver Credit Card at Roku for Disney Electr."

    Thoughts:

That says it's from Roku, not Disney.  (..Roku for...)

It's probably worth finding out whether it's a hold or charge.

$3.23 doesn't sound like a subscription to anything.  It sounds like a charge for watching one movie or show (Perhaps a $2.99 show with an 8% tax.)  This might have been a Disney show watched via some other app on Roku.

I was on a Disney trial of $2.99 for three months.  I decided I did not want to pay for something AND have commercials, so I cancelled my subscription.

Was this ever resolved for you? As i am in the same boat with Disney and Roku. Disney says i do not have an active subscription and i keep getting a charge via Roku- i have two tickets open with Roku and multiple charges. Roku deleted my credit card info but I am worried if i ever want to order anything through Roku again i will suffer the same fate as you

  • A few thoughts:  Roku accounts don't need a payment method. You can still set up premium subscriptions directly with the content companies and watch them on Roku.

Have you ever given/thrown a Roku away?  Or helped a relative/friend by setting up their Roku on your account?  I'm thinking there may be more Rokus on your account than you realize.  I would check in your Roku account for any unrecognized Roku devices and delete them.

Nope, just one Roku.  Always been that way.

Roku is definitely currently and immediately sending Disney my updated credit card info.  How do I know this?  Because I generated a new, virtual card number just for Roku, entered it, and less than 24 hours later, Disney charged me  on that new card.

This happened after a month ago I tried to cancel Disney for two daysRoku said I had to contact Disney directly to cancel (even though I signed up through Roku).  Disney said I had to contact Hulu to cancel,  Hulu said I had to contact Disney to cancel.  And so on.  It was fun.

But - I HAVE NO Hulu account - never have.  Disney said I did not have an account (even though I did), so I just closed my Disney account, thinking that would solve it.  Nope, on the renewal date, I was charged again.  This is when I cancelled the virtual credit card from Hulu.

2 days ago I wanted to add another channel for a $.99 two-month trial, so I generated a new virtual card number for Roku and added the new channel.  About 10 hours later Disney charged me.

If Disney says I don't exist, how is this happening?  And, if Roku is consistently sending my updated credit card to Disney, I should be able to tell Roku to stop, yes?  Why can't I?

Like I said, severely jacked up.

  • To add insult to injury, I thought "Since they're charging me for another month, I should see what's on and log back into Disney..."

BUT!!! even thought they've charged me AGAIN  ("A chrge or hold for $3.23 on July 02, 2025 was placed on your Quicksilver Credit Card at Roku for Disney Electr.")...

I STILL CAN'T LOG IN TO DISNEY!!!

THEY'RE TELLING ME I HAVE TO RESUBSCRIBE!!!

This would be funny if it wasn't so jacked up.

I already cancelled my Disney account.  Disney says I don't exist.  I cancelled my Disney account a month ago.

Disney is not causing me trouble, Roku is.  They keep sending my information to Disney.

Unless, of course, Disney and Roku are one... then, I should be able to have Roku stop this nonsense, yes?

I also already cancelled my credit card - it doesn't exist anymore.  As soon as I uploaded/updated my NEW CC info to Roku, Disney charged me again.

Did you even read what I wrote?

It is possible that your computer and/or email/passwords have been compromised.  I would suggest changing your passwords on your email accounts, maybe even your wi-fi password and set up a pin on your Roku, so purchases cannot be made.
