Hi,
The apps for the UK Channel 4 and 5 apps no longer play content. Both will go through a set of adverts displayed prior to the program but on loading the actual program, an error is displayed, eg. Channel4: 201, Channel 5: RK2011.
- Both menu systems work.
- Tried uninstall / restart / install and that has actually stopped the adverts playing on Ch4 now but not fixed either
- Tried both channels through their browser sites and work fine so not a router issue
- Can play Netflix, IPlayer, ITVX with no issues.

Same issue here. Noticed yesterday. On 5 unsurprisingly the adverts still work , but as it goes to stream 5 the error RK2011 comes up. Channel 4 straight to error 201.

Im having the same problem and cannot get channel 4 live on my roku smart tvs. I had a chat with them over an hour nothing resolved kept getting cut off. They just kept blaming the channels. I've only had the stick a week and used to work until Sunday.

We,re also having this issue since the July 10th update.
It also affects the "U" streaming service.
everything worked before the update.

What is Roku doing (or not doing) here - 2 months and still no fix???? I've had the same issue for the same length of time, same software release/build. My first message here as I'd been monitoring the postings in the obviously vain hope a fix would be rolled out...

Nothing - No Ch4/5/U live or catchup, QUEST TV (discovery+) streaming content from six hours earlier. Ditch ROKU get a firestick which works!

Hi,
Noticed the issue on evening (UK time) of 10th July. It is recent since we've been watching Channel 4 streaming about 2 weeks ago.
It is a Roku Express with a software version of 14.6.4 Build 9915 and a Model no of 3940RW2 - Roku Express 4K
An update is reported to have occurred om the 9th July 2025 at 10:57am.

I am having exactly the same problem with Channel 4, first noticed it Friday evening (11/7) . I haven't tried Ch5. I bought the Roku 3820EU streaming stick 4k off Amazon about a week ago.

I have now rung the help number for Ch4 and I have tried all of their suggested solutions, the problem persists.

Ch4 & 5 not working CBard plus Discovery+ (Quest) live stream is 6 hours behind, support from Roku & Discovery is feeble. The Discovery+ issue has been going on for months. The solution is to get an Amazon Fire Stick for 30 quid, which all works properly OR (For Free) use the TV inbuilt Browser OR attach a Laptop/PC to the TV input and use that. The individual apps all work fine on the internet, they do not via Roku.

Channel 4 & 5 also not working for me. Ads are shown, but actual programs give error code. Started after Roku software update last week. Assume Roku software is now no longer setting the country as UK, as I get the same error if I try to watch channel 4 directly outside the UK.

Just to add, it is also the U app (UK TV Play) along with Channel 4 and Channel 5. All are unable to stream content after playing ads.

Hi,
I’ve had this exact problem since the end of June. It definitely happened after the last update because I have three Rokus, the third one I bought just at the end of June which worked fine until the update. The other two were already not working by then as they’d already updated. The apps work fine on my tv apps so it’s definitely the Roku stick.

I agree helenpmorris Channei4 & Channel 5 stopped working after the last update. Both discovery+ & ROKU "support" have stopped their generic default replies which achieve nothing as the faults are not with the end user. Channel 4 Channel 5 and now "U" & paramount+ have all stopped working and discovery+ is still streaming 6 hours behind. All the apps (working) are available on the internet and through the TV Browser. Amazon firesticks work OK, so you can only put the faults down to ROKU.

I've also been having this issue for a number of weeks now, works fine on any other device in the house so clearly a Roku issue.
Surprised it hasn't got more traction which makes me believe it could be a more isolated incident only affecting some users?

Same here regarding Channel4 and 5. Working fine up to a few weeks ago, then stopped working.

Contacted Channel4 support and their response was that the code 201 error indicates the device is built for use outside the UK. It has been working previously though, so perhaps an update has created a geographical issue?

I appreciate that as an option, but I have a Roku Ultra (not available for sale in the UK) that still works with Channel 4, Channel 5, and U, but not with BBC iPlayer because the Ultra was never sold in the UK. On my Roku Express, BBC iPlayer works, but 4, 5, and U do not work.
Also, my parents have a similar Roku Express and their 4, 5, and U still work, but they have a different "last updated" date than my Roku Express is showing.
