Request for Roku to not exit the app when pressing Play
Please, I'm so fed up with coming back to my RokuTV after pausing it, hitting Play/Pause on the remote to resume play, and instead, without any prompt to confirm that I actually want to exit my program, the app I'm using is forced close and I'm dumped on the home screen and asked to enter my pin to add some channel I don't want to add. Why does Play/Pause function as the Pause button when I'm watching TV, but as the "click ad" button when my TV is paused, while the OK is button is normally the "click something" button but when I'm on pause becomes the Play button? Why can't Play/Pause just always be Play/Pause and use the OK button to click on screensaver ads? Also, why do I get a timed prompt to cancel if I click the Netflix button on my remote, or use a voice command to request a different app, but clicking on an ad while my TV is paused can eject me from my current app with no confirmation required? The unintuitive reversal of expected button functions wouldn't be nearly so bad if I could at least cancel these accidentally ad clicks before it closes the app I was using. Please, please, I am begging you to do something about this. Make the Play/Pause button only Play and Pause.Solved1.5KViews3likes1CommentThe past 7-10 days, Roku TV has started lagging and buffering.
Hello, this might be an old subject, but I had to write. I have a 3-month-old Roku brand TV. It was working perfectly until 7–10 days ago. Now it's lagging & buffering. Apps will buffer, and when I use the live & Roku TV option, the channel will say what's on, but I have to wait 5–10 seconds more for the picture to show up. Now I tried everything from resets to secret menus, resetting my wireless, checking my wireless connection. Everything mentioned in tips & tricks from the Roku site to YouTube. Nothing worked. Today, I asked my downstairs neighbor who has an older Roku stick, and he said he's having the exact same problem, so I'm not crazy. Some recent Roku update must be the culprit, and I'd like to know first if they even know about it, and second, when they plan on fixing this? Thanks in advance for any replies and/or info.Solved16KViews2likes6CommentsTCL ROKU TV not streaming content in 4K
I have a TCL 4K Series 6 ROKU TV. I just noticed today that it is not streaming any 4K content in 4k. Movies anywhere says "device does not support 4k playback" and When I play 4K movies on Apple TV Dolby Vision kicks in but in the movies info it says it's only playing in HD. I hooked up my Nvidia Shield through an HDMI and it plays 4K content fine so It must be some kind of error with the Roku that's built into the TV.3.7KViews2likes6CommentsRoku TV keeps disconnecting from wifi when i turn it off and back on
SO... This jusr barely started happening last week. So ill explain, i have a HiSense Roku TV 40" and when i turn my tv off. leave somewhere and come back i turn it on and its not connected to the wifi i have to restart my tv from settings or i usually clear the CACHE by pressing "Home" 5x Then Up button 1x Then Rewind 2 x then Fast Forward button 2x and it works but then i turn my tv off and leave then come back and i have to do the process over again. i have restarted my wifi router as well. and it didnt change this. I also updated my roku tv a few weeks ago, not sure if that is a bug that roku hasn't fixed but just wanted to throw that in there as well. And will having a MONSTER LED light Bar interfere with my connection? cause my roku remote changes the light colors on my monster light bars. lol i just wanted to add that just in case its the light bars that are interfering with the connection. if anyone has any suggestions please let me know THANKS.4.8KViews1like1CommentAuto Brightness Not Working when Powering On
Hello. Lately (possibly since the last software update on 1/13), My TV (Roku Pro Series 65") goes to full brightness when powered on. Auto Brightness doesn't engage. The only fix that works for me is to perform a System Restart. Once I do the restart, auto brightness kicks in and everything is normal. By default, I always keep Auto Brightness on. This has only been an issue recently. I've had the TV since December 2024. This issue is occuring every time I power the TV off, then on again. Current software version is 14.1.4, Build 7709.Solved1.5KViews1like41CommentsRoku TV Pro Series - color issue on Mission Impossible Rogue Nation on Amazon Prime app
My brand new Roku 65" class Pro Series 4K TV has been working well for its 1st month. Today I noticed the issue with the colors when playing Mission: Impossible 5 - Rogue Nation (UHD, HDR) on the Amazon Prime app. When starting playing the movie, I see HDR10+ Adaptive notification on top right. The initial green field is somewhat yellow and the “white” (beige) skin tones are orange to red. I played the trailer on the on the YouTube app and it works finely. Other UHD movies – e.g. Red One, or even M.I. Dead Reckoning also have no problem. Same movie on Amazon Prime plays well on the iPad and on my previous TCL Roku TV 65”. A curious thing is that on M.I. 5 when pausing the movie, the little thumbnail to select the scene shows the proper colors, so the issue only happens on the movie itself. It seems related to the metadata on the header of the file like someone suggested on this thread https://community.roku.com/t5/Solving-playback-issues/Update-making-colors-appear-too-red-too-rich/td-p/852309 , although this is something that I can’t check since it’s on the Amazon Prime app. Tried the following troubleshooting steps from other threads and no success: 1. Adjust colors & other settings on the * (star) button menu when playing the movie– I can make it better, but it’s still bad 2. Unplug TV, count 2min, power it on 3. Check for Software Update on Settings > System; latest 14.0.4, build 12225 4. Update Amazon Prime app: latest 15.3, build 2024111414 5. Delete and reinstall Amazon Prime app 6. System Restart on Settings > System > Power I don’t want to do a Factory Reset because (1) I don’t think it will fix it and (2) it would take me time to install the apps, set up the TV, etc.Solved2.4KViews1like13Comments
