How do I fix my TCL Roku tv Black screen/ dim light
My daughter was watching tv and all of a sudden the screen went black, we can still hear everything but the screen was black . I’ve only had this tv for 6 months so I’m confused as to what is going on. I’ve tried holding the power button on the both the remote and the tv to reset, I’ve unplugged it , I’ve used the reset button on the back of the tv, I’ve changed the picture mode using the dictation to movie, I’ve factory reset it and nothing seems to work. When I turn on the tv you can see the red screen for just a split second before it goes dark. You can tell the tv is a low dim cause at a certain angle you can see the words on the screen very faintly . what should I do42KViews4likes16CommentsNo Bluetooth headphone option for TCL Roku TV.
I have the same problem with my Roku TV. There’s an icon showing a group of audio outputs including headphones, but in the menu there is no headphone option, even though there IS a wireless speaker option, which means to me that it is bluetooth capable.Solved29KViews2likes10CommentsAGAIN Roku app cannot find IP address of Roku Express
UPDATE TO ORIGINAL POST: I thought I had found a solution to this problem by turning off the privacy settings on my iPhone WiFi settings. This stopped working pretty quickly. Then the app started working randomly again for a few days, without having to change any iOS settings! Unfortunately, the situation has now reverted to not being able to connect. I have confirmed that the app works with Roku’s at other houses. My internet provider says the issue is not theirs. Does Roku have a solution yet? My roommates and I have been using the Roku app as a remote for our Roku Express specifically because of the ability to play audio through headphones and not disturb each other. It was working for months, but in the past few weeks the app would randomly drop the connection then have to reconnect. Today, the app could not connect to the device at all. I have restarted the app and the device, checked the WiFi setting, and even factory reset the device. The phone and the device are linked to the same WiFi, the IP addresses are both 192.168.1.XX. No VPNs are involved. The connection on the Roku device says it is excellent. When I try to connect manually with the IP address, the app says there is no device found there. I am inputting the correct address, as I am copying it directly from the “About” section from my TV screen. Control by mobile apps on the device is set to default. The WiFi is Spectrum. We only have one network available, and we cannot even access the Access Point settings. The phones have local network access enabled for the app. We have tried with multiple phones, all iPhones running the latest iOS, so we believe it is a problem with our device or the app, not the phones. We have gone through every step given by Roku’s troubleshooting guide, and nothing has changed.Solved5.4KViews1like8CommentsMy Model H801X is not recognized. How do I download a manual update?
I went to tvupdate.roku.com to manually download an update but it does not recognize the model number my TV displays in settings, which is H801X. It is asking for 4 numbers and one letter. Nothing in that pattern is available to me on this device. It's a 32-inch Onn model 100012589 that is not displayed on Roku's website but is available at Walmart still. After a week this TV is no longer connecting to the internet. We primarily screen mirror our devices to it, we don't really use it for TV. After attempting all the basic steps, power cycle, reconnect to the network, reset button on the back, full system reset... nothing is working. I tried to research both the Roku Model Number as well as the Onn Model Number in hopes that I would find a model number I could use for this TV but no luck. I read here in the community that Walmart models typically have "RW" at the end, but this one doesn't. I assume because Onn is Walmart's brand and there's no need to identify it? I'm at a loss. Any help is appreciated!Solved4.1KViews0likes3CommentsRoku Channel / Live TV shows black screen on play anything
Hello, omega332. Welcome to the roku....hotmesss. As, I think, as you just described, I haven't been able see any roku streaming channel for 3-4 months now,...all other apps.Sling, YouTube,...work. Been following multiple threads on this forum, only to see them wither and die , just keep scrolling back and you will find them. This forum is pretty poor on keeping 'hot', 'similar' topics currant Check back in a few days, you're post will be 3-4 pages back ,...and someone else with same sort of problem will be asking for help also (tell me you're system. connection, what do you see.....) Seen many multiple of responses of users responding, with few successes, ......think this a roku problem. Using my tv now as a 'gateway' to ota channels, and other streaming channels...... everything roku (and there are other problems) are a still a issue. Good Luck.Solved4KViews0likes12CommentsRoku Mobile App restrict other devices
My sister keeps turning off my tv through her phone on the Roku mobile app. I already disabled ‘Control by mobile apps’ on my tv but for some reason she’s still able to connect to my tv and turn it off while I’m using it. Is there any way I could disconnect my tv from the mobile app on her phone. I can’t go through her phone so I need to do it on either my tv or on my phone. I have factory reset twice, unplugged for an entire night, turned off CEC, turned off one touch, checked for updates (there are none), changed batteries twice, turned off the ability to be controlled by the app Incase it's someone else doing this- I'm out. I don't know what else to do. The TV switches input on its own, turns off whenever it feels like it or if I try to close the input window while it's up. If I close the input switching window, it'll come right back up. If I touch the top of the tv, it either turns off/on, or starts to control itself. I'm lost. I don't know what this would be or what to try next. There's nothing plugged into it either. I'm at such a loss, it's only happening to my tv, no one else's in my house. It's making me lose my mind. In build 4312, a bug was reintroduced from version 10.5.0 that kept DynamicContrast enabled when GameMode was also enabled despite the fact it says it is "unavailable." All Inputs with game mode turned ON keeps adjusting the screen brightness even though the Dynamic Contrast is turned OFF/Not available. Inputs with game mode turned OFF do not have this issue and work properly. For example, when watching a show/playing a video game and the scene changes, the screen will flash brightly for half a second then quickly adjust back to the correct brightness. This is extremely annoying and distracting especially for gaming. This is extremely frustrating because the issue was finally fixed after 7 months of not being fixed and now it's back only being fixed for 4 months. My Roku Onn TV is not entering power saving mode while Netflix app is open. It opens Netflix poster screen but the TV doesn't auto power off. This is causing high energy consumption at my home during peak hours. Is there a solution to this? If not, can this be taken as a bug request?1.7KViews0likes3Comments
