Roku standard remote drains batteries quickly, and battery status icon won't stop appearing
Have a roku 3 that was working previously although it was used minimally. Have now returned our cable boxes and gone to solely streaming, and am having great difficulty with the remote. It is going through batteries quickly, and even with brand new batteries, the roku is sluggish to respond when a button is pressed on the remote. With used OR new batteries, the battery icon symbol keeps appearing on the screen repeatedly every few seconds. The icon battery level varies all over the place, showing red when batteries are new, and then showing green 5 seconds later. Then back to red. New batteries drained 30% in first 3 minutes of use. I have tried resetting the roku, re-pairing the remote, etc. and nothing is resolving the problems. I am reluctant to invest in a new remote if the problem is in the system or software updates. I am especially reluctant to purchase a whole new roku system as I have seen many complaints online about similar issues and there is no way to reach a roku employee directly for help. I am a senior, and not super tech-savvy. Does anyone have suggestions about what to do next? Thank you.Solved1.9KViews0likes3CommentsHow to quickly fix battery drain from point-anywhere Roku remotes
My RC-AL2 remote for my Roku streaming stick (3800) is going through batteries fast. I shouldn’t have to change batteries every 2 weeks. I’ve tried the system reset suggestion to no avail. The battery warning indicator for the remote control keeps displaying on my TV screen. Please help.Solved4.9KViews0likes5CommentsRoku TCL remote battery drains quickly
I recently purchased a TCL 32 Class LED 3Series 1080p Smart HDTV Roku TV 32S327 The batteries on the remote drain quite fast. Usually within a week. Not using it very much. No headphone attachment. Any help would be appreciated. MattSolved20KViews0likes30CommentsDo all Roku’s drain remote batteries so fast?
My #Roku Streaming Stick + (3810, 3811 series) remote went through new batteries about every 3 months (average use; never used the headphones feature). I read here that it was a#Roku Streaming Stick + (3810, 3811 series) specific problem, so I replaced it with an #Roku Ultra (4800 series) about 10 weeks ago. Just got the low battery warning yesterday. I’ve exclusively used Roku’s since 2011 and never had this problem until I bought a Stick+ in 2019. Now I replace batteries in my remotes every 2 to 3 months without fail. Is there any fix for this? It’s super frustrating b/c the Stick+ worked fine except for the remote’s battery issue and I effectively wasted $$ on a product that does the exact same thing.7.9KViews1like93CommentsPremier + remote uses battery very rapidly
My remote uses battery very rapidly. We do use the headphone function and I understand that it drains the battery faster but it is a day between changes. I thought it was strange and expensive so I bought rechargeable batteries. When the remote dies we remove the batteries and put them on the charger it turns out that only one battery is depleted. So I thought I would just switch sides when it dies and it starts working again but runs out even faster and when we put the batteries back on the charger one is empty and the other is still at least half charged. Seems like a faulty remote in my opinion.Solved4.1KViews0likes20CommentsRemote died and will not pair
My remote randomly died. I’ve been using the smartphone app but then I needed to do a factory reset on my #Roku Premiere+ (4630 series) to link it to my Roku account. Now I can’t use my Roku because the remote is dead (it has new batteries and the pairing button doesn’t work). I don’t know who to contact to get the remote replaced (it died young).Solved3.3KViews0likes2Comments
