Reconnecting to the Internet during network setup
Seriously, what witless wonder decided that connecting to the Internet was a requirement to connecting my router device to home network? I have just moved home, Internet not getting installed for a couple of weeks, which is fine. The problem is, I now can't connect to my media server in the meantime, because fecking witless wonder made it impossible for me to connect Roku device to my home network thus, preventing me connecting my old TV to my plex server, via Roku, because it's too fecking simple to make things easy for users. Why does every company have to make everything as sh*t as possible... Because heaven forbid people be without Internet for a week or two for whatever reason. So please, can make so users can connect their Roku devices to their home network, even if their Internet is nor available.
Remote not working after factory reset
I did a factory reset after moving, tv would not connect to the new wireless internet. Now, it won't even get off the "let's get started" screen. Stupid remote will only turn the tv on and off, but won't allow anything else to happen. It's a standard remote, have taken the batteries our. Tried new ones, unplugging and replacing. Add an App to Roku Roku prefers to call their apps, "Streaming Channels". Besides that, they function the same way as the apps on any other platform. To add an app to your Roku, do the following: Press the Home button on the remote. Go to Streaming Channels. Find the app you wish to add. There are two ways to do it: Either browse through the Categories on the left and look for the app in the right pane. Or go to Search Channels and type in the name of the app. Select the app once you found it and then select Add channel. Wait for the app to get added. You'll get a confirmation message when the app was added. Select OK to finish.
Resetting the Roku 3820X2 Streaming Stick Loses Ethernet connection
This stick is not powered through the HDMI connector but rather with a USB charger. The charger is plugged into an uninterruptible power supply (UPS), so it always has AC power. Nevertheless, if I don't use the system for a week or so, the stick loses it's Ethernet connection and it is necessary to press the reset button on the stick. This is extremely inconvenient, as the stick is not easily accessible in my rack. Two Qs: is this normal? And which models of streaming sticks don't have this issue?
