AGAIN Roku app cannot find IP address of Roku Express
UPDATE TO ORIGINAL POST: I thought I had found a solution to this problem by turning off the privacy settings on my iPhone WiFi settings. This stopped working pretty quickly. Then the app started working randomly again for a few days, without having to change any iOS settings! Unfortunately, the situation has now reverted to not being able to connect. I have confirmed that the app works with Roku’s at other houses. My internet provider says the issue is not theirs. Does Roku have a solution yet? My roommates and I have been using the Roku app as a remote for our Roku Express specifically because of the ability to play audio through headphones and not disturb each other. It was working for months, but in the past few weeks the app would randomly drop the connection then have to reconnect. Today, the app could not connect to the device at all. I have restarted the app and the device, checked the WiFi setting, and even factory reset the device. The phone and the device are linked to the same WiFi, the IP addresses are both 192.168.1.XX. No VPNs are involved. The connection on the Roku device says it is excellent. When I try to connect manually with the IP address, the app says there is no device found there. I am inputting the correct address, as I am copying it directly from the “About” section from my TV screen. Control by mobile apps on the device is set to default. The WiFi is Spectrum. We only have one network available, and we cannot even access the Access Point settings. The phones have local network access enabled for the app. We have tried with multiple phones, all iPhones running the latest iOS, so we believe it is a problem with our device or the app, not the phones. We have gone through every step given by Roku’s troubleshooting guide, and nothing has changed.Solved5.4KViews1like8CommentsRoku slow to respond when navigating channel
I have a Roku3 and have been experiencing similar issues. Not only was the Roku itself laggy, but the lag affected apps differently. YouTube was by far the worst affected, lagging to the point of being unusable and often crashing to a gray screen that required rebooting the Roku before YouTube would ever work again. I solved the problem (fingers crossed, knock wood!) by connecting the Roku to my router via Ethernet instead of wifi. Apparently, using wifi heavily taxes the Roku's CPU.3.6KViews0likes6CommentsRoku Mobile Version 9.3.1 won't run on my iphone
Starting 2 days ago when my iphone automatically installed Roku Mobile Version 9.3.1 I can no longer use the Roku Mobile app. I click the icon and the app just hangs on the main loading screen, never getting beyond the purple loading screen I have an iphone XR, iOS 16.4.1. I've uninstalled the roku app, rebooted, and reinstalled. The problem came back with 15 minutes. The app is no longer usable and I'd love to let Roku support know that 9.3.1 is broken on my phone. Any ideas on how to install the old version?2.6KViews2likes4CommentsRoku Streambar - Keeps kicking me out of my apps and back to the home screen

Hi all, I tried to access CNN via the Roku player as I usually do, and today there was an update about their "new and improved" menu. However, it's not improved; I can't access anything and just see a black screen with some menu text, but no pictures. Any help? Edit: It doesn't work on my Roku TV either!1.9KViews2likes14Comments- 1.8KViews0likes4Comments
Multiple channels and screensaver crashes
Nov 1, 2024 Device type: Roku Ultra Serial number: X028000E7524 This one is a replacement from a 3 week RU that crashed... this new one here crashes also! It's like there's some kind of odd memory leak. They crash at the stupidest times too... MOSTLY from just exiting the screensaver OTHERS like a hard back to HOME from like YouTube or Streaming service. It is extremely ANNOYING! Where is the quality control Roku? I have a latest 80" Sony Brava TV that supports EVERYTHING. External Inputs are all setup properly to Dolby Vision. I have HDMI 2.1 that support the best in Dolby Vision. This problem is NOT on my end. PLZ fix your Firmware! Thanks1.6KViews1like6Comments
