I should mention I opened a similar line of investigation with Amazon support and they provided me with steps that included uninstalling Alexa app, powering down/up iPhone, re-installing Alexa app. Then I proceeded to try installing the Roku skill and this time it linked to my Roku account. I even received an email from Roku confirming the fact. That being said, the whole effort seemed a tad underwhelming, as yes, it added a new device to my list on the Alexa app for Roku, but it only has a "Power On/Off" feature. And the odd issue... pressing it doesn't seem to affect the Roku device. It stays on even if Alexa shows it as "Off". I know Alexa isn't a Roku app, but do you have any advice on its usefulness? I somehow expected... more? Or maybe the usefulness is hidden in Alexa voice commands? I can confirm it's an Amazon Echo Spot (2024 release) Alexa app 2.2.613883.0 Unable to link Roku account to Alexa (using skill) The steps I took were: Launched Alexa app (on iPhone) Tapped on "More+" => "Skills & Games" Searched for: roku Selected "Roku" => "ENABLE TO USE" In Link Account, tapped "Accept and Continue" Prompted to sign into Roku account (email/password) Email sent with passcode, which was typed in Tapped "Connect to Alexa App" Tapped "Continue" Then the following error appears: Unable to link accounts We're experiencing an issue while linking your accounts. Please visit the Account Linking Help page for instructions to attempt linking again. Ironically, the instructions are the same as steps 1-9... so, not helpful. As a side note, the Roku device was online and powered on the TV during setup. How to cast from Windows 10 PC to Roku 4K Streaming Stick I recently setup a Roku 4K Streaming Stick on a standard LCD TV, connecting to its HDMI port. No issues using the Roku 4K Streaming Stick to connect to the internet via the home wireless router. What I would like to do is "cast" from my Windows 10 PC to the Roku 4K Streaming Stick. Previously I was able to do so using Google Chromecast via the Google Chrome browser, so I know my PC can send its display via the home wireless router. However, the only "How To" video I came across mentioned using the Display option, then selecting "Connect to a wireless display". That's all well and good... except I don't have that feature. Or simply what the "How To" video shows is not the same as my Windows 10 o/s shows. While the green light was blinking on the remote after I installed its batteries, like before, this time I noticed the TV screen did NOT attempt to display the "How you pair the remote and device" 3-step instructions. So I pressed the Home and Back buttons, counted to 5 or so, and a message popped up saying it was attempting to pair... and then it did! I finished the setup with no issue. On a side note, a day later (Friday) the Roku remote the Roku services offered did arrive and without any fees. I'll keep the remote just in case I encounter any future issues. But I wanted to report that both solutions I pursued did have positive outcomes in the end (for anyone else who encounters the same problem). I just need to return the defective unit, which I'll do once the new one arrives and I can use its Amazon box. I'll advise whether or not this fixes the issue I experienced. Re: Remote Not Pairing with Roku Streaming Stick 4K Well, I think there might be a problem, as FedEx is delaying the package delivery and reporting the following for the tracking number: "The payor of duties, taxes and fees will be responsible for any applicable Clearance Entry Fees (CEF) and other import fees." I assume Roku can only ship from the United States and have no facilities in Canada? If the package arrives and I'm expected to pay a fee, then I'll simply send it back. As I purchased Roku via Amazon Canada I think I should have returned/replaced it ~2 weeks ago using Amazon's system and saved myself the trouble.
