Changed the wifi password for my router, now my 3 Roku TV’s won’t connect
I recently changed the wifi password for my home internet. My phone, laptop, iPad, Samsung TV, etc. have all re-connected to the internet just fine with the new password. However, my 3 TCL Roku TV’s and another tv using a Roku stick are not connecting to the internet now. I’ve tried unplugging the router and restarting the Roku devices. I tried the Roku factory reset on one of the TV’s. I tried the Network Connection Reset in the Roku settings. Nothing is working. Super frustrating… My Roku devices are the only devices in the house that won’t connect, and they were all working great until I simply changed the wifi password. I've seen other threads on this topic but they're all locked and I can't ask questions or follow-up. I just got a Roku Ultra player and I'm trying to get the best experience I can so I'm trying to use a Wired connection. I've tried various cables and varying ethernet ports on my router but no matter what, the Roku will not find a connection. I've tried using the cable and the port that I have another device plugged into -- that device works with the setup, the Roku does not. If I switch the player to using a wireless connection - everything's fine. It just will not use a wired connection - which is what I want to set up. Advice please!Solved51KViews2likes78CommentsRoku Ultra (2024) Wifi Connection Issues
Is anyone else having trouble keeping their Roku Ultra or other modern Roku devices connected to Wifi? I have two Ultras in the house, and even more often now, they stop connecting to my WiFi. I checked my router, and it’s working. I checked if other WiFi enabled devices are connected, and they are, while the Rokus fails. I even gave one a factory reset, but that didn’t help at all. So, Roku, can you set up a software patch that can fix this issue? I also have a Roku TV by TCL that occasionally has the same problem. And, my router is close enough to both Ultra devices. In fact, no other device in my household suffers from connection failure as bad as these Rokus. Hope to hear from a Roku technician or member of the community with professional input soon. We have two Roku 4K streaming sticks with a wireless connection to the same network. The first one installed works fine, but the second new one won't run any channels and shows this message: Can't run channel 'channel name' could not be run because it could not be reinstalled from the network. Please check your network connection and try again. I tried: - Power-cycling the problem Roku device - Restarting the Roku: Settings > System > Power > System Restart. - Restarting the router The Roku is connected to the network (AT&T), but I still get the same message and cannot get any channels. Please advise. Thank you. MelissaSolved2.8KViews1like11CommentsTwo 4 K 5 GHz sticks, one brand new, won't connect to the network
Hello! I've been using Roku's for at least 5 years. I have 5 total, they all do 4k and use 5Ghz. I have one that just one day stopped connecting to 5Ghz. I messed with it and decided it died, okay it happens. I bought another and fresh out of the box, it won't connect to 5Ghz. I have 3 unique SSID's, one for 2.4, two for 5ghz. Everything else in the house connects no problem. I turned off DFS in the router. I limited the channel range to fit only within the Roku's range (why it says it works with a standard but really doesn't is another topic.) The only change I made on my end is move the router, of course since then I made the above changes.. I moved it to a more central location, actually closer to devices. I've also moved the devices to other locations in the house and they also won't connect to 5Ghz. Recap: I have 5 total Roku 4k and 2 we will call "old" that both work on both 5Ghz SSID's. A 3rd bought in the last year won't connect. A brand new one out of the box won't connect. All 4 also connect to 2.4ghz just fine. I have 3 unique SSID's, one for 2.4, two for 5ghz. Everything else in the house connects no problem. I'm at wits end. I can't check right now to see when the last update was, or if I can even see that info but that's the only thing I can think of.Solved142Views1like7CommentsRoku will no longer connect to the router's Wi-Fi.
I have been running my Roku premier streaming stick from a network extender that is connected wirelessly to a cox panoramic router. Everything had been working great up until yesterday. All of a sudden my Roku will no longer connect to the routers wifi. But it still connects to my mobile hotspot fine. None of the routers settings have been changed recently. I ran system updates on Roku, reset network settings, power cycled both router and Roku, and everything else that has been suggested online. I've even tried factory resetting both Roku and extender and set back up from scratch. What would cause it to suddenly not connect when it has been connected just fine for like 3 months, and nothing has changed,? How can I fix this very frustrating issue??Solved197Views1like2Comments
