conflicting network status

Jump to solution

Hi. This just started after 2 years. My network shows as connected in the setup, but when I go to Home and launch Youtube or another service, I'm told I'm not connected. I've redone it many times, and have restarted and reset my router many times, too. Still no success. Any experience with this? Thanks!

Hi @JDBC,

Thanks for your first post in the Roku Community!

We are glad to have you here reporting the issue with your Roku, which keeps showing the error message "Not connected" when you try to access streaming services. We appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have taken to try to fix the issue. No worries, we are more than willing to help.

Let's see if this will work for you, kindly try the following:

Restart your Roku device:

  1. Press Home on your Roku remote
  2. Scroll and select Settings
  3. Select System
  4. Select Power. If you do not see a Power submenu, skip to the next step.
  5. Select System restart

Reset the network connection:

  1. Press Home on your Roku remote
  2. Scroll and select Settings
  3. Select Advanced System settings
  4. Select Network connection reset
  5. Select Reset connection

After the network reset is done, your Roku device will restart and you will need to return to the Settings menu and set up your wireless network again.

If the issue persists, I highly suggest you contact your internet service provider (ISP) to reboot the internet connection on their end.

For reference, you can visit our Roku Support article on how to resolve a channel playback issue.

Please keep us posted.
