I get my Internet through polar communications in North Dakota. My polar app has a security log telling me of an intrusion attempt directed at the various Roku devices 8n the house. ,"TCP experimental options found was log" is the message I get multiple times per day. Is this ROKU trying to send or retrieve information from the devices or something else.
Did you find out what it is? I'm getting the same thing.
Every Roku will check for updates on a daily basis. Depending on what channels you have installed, they too might be checking in with home base for updates or refreshing data. But the amount of data being requested and sent should be minimal, unless the Roku is updating its operating system.
Thanks for clarifying. I'm receiving this message from my lumos internet about my Roku TV. I have 44 notifications of it since 130 am yesterday. Could my lumos security setting be to secure. My other Roku TV and connected devices arent sending errors?
Thank you
Since it's a Roku TV, it might be polling for more than just OS updates. It could be downloading the channel information for your over the air stations. With 44 notifications, that might be one for each station, as well as other things being updated. I can't say if your settings are too high. Being a Roku TV (most likely built by someone other than Roku, they just started building their own TVs this year), it's possible it's something manufacturer related as well. Why your log is labeling them in this fashion I have no idea. but it sounds like legitimate communications. 1:30AM would be reasonable to be refreshing the channel grid information.
Cool. Thank you so much!
