Re: Roku won’t connect to WiFi but all other devices in house work!

Purchased Roku Express on 8-31-21, worked fine until 12-01-21, stopped receiving signal from my wireless  network. When I try to restart the unit, over seven times already, my network signal is on top of the world but Roku will  not come on. "No connection."

Thought this contraption would be my problem solver in watching something in my old age, but can not say that I would relate anything good to anyone asking.

SKU Roku Express (3930, 3931 series)  SN#S0083143KXL11

Done all that others have said to do but getting exasperated.

@Furritus @Jherter1 @baby-huey

Thanks for the posts.

Who is your internet service provider (ISP)? In addition, what is your make and model of your router?

With more detailed information, we will be able to provide further troubleshooting.

Thanks,
Danny

@ashtaylo12

Thanks for the post.

Can you please provide more information about the issue you are experiencing?

Who is ISP (internet service provider)? Have you ensured your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for the device to connect to? The Roku Express/Premiere is only compatible with wireless b/g/n networks on the 2.4 GHz spectrum.

With more detailed information, we will be able to assist you further.

Thanks,
Danny

@ashtaylo12

Thanks for the follow up regarding internet connectivity issues with your device.
If your internet service provider is Comcast, we would recommend changing your router settings for 2.4 GHz band from g/n to b/g/n, as customers have stated that this helped resolve their issue.

Please keep us posted what you find out.

Thanks,
Danny

Re: Roku won’t connect to WiFi but all other devices in house work!

All of sudden my Roku quit connecting to my network. I have done all of the restarts and verifications, still nothing. My wireless network is correct and connects with everything else in home. Roku shows the network as very strong but will not connect. Defective Roku?????

Re: Roku won’t connect to WiFi but all other devices in house work!

Hello @frustrate

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community!

If you are getting an error code or message, refer to this link for common Roku error codes and their recommended actions: How to connect your Roku device to the internet using Wi-Fi or Ethernet

Furthermore, if the affected device is either a Roku Express or Roku Premiere, please note that they are only compatible with wireless b/g/n networks on the 2.4 GHz spectrum. Ensure that your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for the device to connect to. You can check your device model by navigating to Settings > System > About.

You can also try configuring your router and use wireless channels 1, 6, or 11 which are the preferred channels in North America. Each time you change the wireless channel, you will likely need to apply/save changes before you are prompted to restart the router.

Let us know how it goes.

All the best,
Kariza
