I am trying to set up my Roku Express HD and it get's a connection but when it finishes updating it drops the connection and goes back to start.
That's one of inexpensive devices that doesn't come with a power adapter, right? Make sure the one you're using is up to the task. Your TV's USB port may not be able to provide enough power and if you had an old USB power adapter lying around it also may not. Make sure the fine print on the adapter says something like, "Output: 5V 1A". Anything greater than 1 Amp is even better.
I seem to have the same issue. Mine is new. It runs through the entire setup, and update, then the dancing ROKU comes up and asks me to begin again from start. The router is closer than our other ROKU (which works fine). We have gig speed internet. The power adapter is 5v 2amp. Any ideas?
If you can, try connecting to your phone's hotspot or some other alternate network just to get through the initial setup.
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried it, and it said the signal was excellent, but it went right back to 'select language' again. Bummer! Any other ideas?
Dang! It may be time to return it.
