Whelp, I’m throwing up my hands. I ordered a new mesh network. My wife can get very frightening when her TV isn’t working. If a new router doesn’t work, I’ll send it back and order a new Roku.
A big thanks for the detailed help and suggestions. There’s always at least one person on every forum who takes the time to help a fellow human. I know a lot about some things, but networking isn’t one of them.
While you are waiting on your new system to arrive, have you tried moving the non-working Roku device to a location that is working. (or vice versa, moving a working device to the non-working location)?
However, with an angry wife, I would probably try the former, and not the latter. You could just have a bad satellite that is preventing the connection. I would experiment by maybe moving the Roku device first, and then second, swapping around the satellites. (see if any changes in behavior).
When troubleshooting these things. you really are just looking for changes. (does anything make it better, worse, no change). This kind of helps narrow down culprit possibilities.
One more possible clue… the problematic Roku always puts up the ‘At Home or Away’ dialogue. I always reply ‘Home’. This dialogue does not pop up when connecting to my WiFi hotspot - only the home WiFi network.
The other two units didn’t do this. I’ve done a factory reset on the troublemaker at least 3 times.
