I was struggling and searching for a solution to this issue all morning after 4 hours of searching and reading all these replies and comments I almost gave up hope then I ended up installing the Roku device stick remote through Google Play and was able to go to my Wi-Fi settings put the wi-fi settings on Wi-Fi direct then go back to the remote and it found my Roku model 3400x and connected to it from my smartphone
