For the last week or two, I've had increasing connectivity issues with both my 2-year old Philips RokuTV and my 5 year-old Roku streaming stick--both of which had been working perfectly. My 5G internet connection is unchanged, both devices report strong wifi and internet connection, but have had decreasing functionality every day. When an app works, it seems just fine, but, it's increasingly rare that I can get any app to work. Even when I'm lucky enough to get an app to open, I'm rarely able to watch anything, getting messages like "unable to connect" or "there is a problem", despite the settings showing a strong wifi and internet connection.
I've read through every thread here and followed the suggestions. Unplugging devices and restarting the internet worked for day or two. However, the issue is clearly getting worse every day. I've reset and rebooted and restarted and cleared everything possible and currently, I'm barely able to get either device to work. This seems to be a Roku issue.
Can a Roku representative give an update about what's causing this problem that many of us are experiencing on different devices? Has something has changed with Roku's software? If so, can we expect an update soon that will fix the problem?
I'm a Roku fan and have long recommended the platform to others. I'd love to be able to continue to do so! Thanks!
Hi @NHap,
Greetings from the Roku Community!
We appreciate the troubleshooting steps you have taken so far and would like to investigate thoroughly this connectivity issue you had with the Roku TV and Roku streaming stick.
Can you please provide the following information below?
This article provides instructions on how to fix common network issues and error codes on your Roku streaming device. Other articles provide more how-to instructions and guides.
We look forward to your responses and hope this helps.

Thanks for reposting this info! Unfortunately, none of these solutions worked.
After checking and changing some wifi preferences, I reset the system to factory settings three times. Each time, Roku stalled when trying to install a system update and wouldn't complete the set up process.. I finally gave up for the day.
When I turned the tv on the next day for more troubleshooting, the system had updated and rebooted and was working normally.
I'm glad things are working again, but wish I knew why! I have no idea what actually fixed the issue because none of the suggestions seemed to make a difference. My best guess is that the error seems related to Roku system updates. It took hours to try to fix and was a frustrating experience.
Roku was having prroblems with its registration and update servers a day or two ago.
