@booklover25-
Is the net you are trying to connect to at your dorm one in which you log into a web page for the net using a web browser on a computer/phone/etc to log in first? If so...
- When you have logged in with whatever information that web page requests, it establishes your internet connection for that device. Any additional devices must be logged in separately. The institution may place a limit on the number of devices you may connect.
- You must use a Roku that has already been set up and linked to your Roku account. If it is a new unit, or if you have done a factory reset, it is not linked to your Roku account. You can use a WiFi network that does not require a web login, such as the WiFi hotspot on a phone, to do this initial setup and linking.
- The Roku has no web browser you can use to log into the school's network web page, but Roku has provided a Hotel and Dorm mode as a work-around. You still use your computer or mobile device, but you connect it to the web page through the Roku using a WiFi Direct connection to the Roku. Your browser submits the login data like normal, but it goes through the Roku and thus establishes the Roku's net connection.
