Hello if you have purchased just the Rogers Ignite Internet and you have the wifi show up on your phone but not the tv. The problem is: let’s say you had Fido and then got Roger’s well when you hook up the ignite wifi and it asks you for a wifi name and password you need to put the same wifi name and password you had originally. Trust me after the **bleep** of trying to get mine to simply connect that was the problem so example : if your name of internet was: spaceship and your password was marco1234 then you need that to be the same as when you first set up your Roger’s ignite. Also if you have the Roku little box thing and your tv has sound and no picture. You need to replace the hdmi cord as the one you are using was either old or not good enough to flow the fibre into or may just be a cheap hdmi cord. I hope this helps and I did let Roger’s know that they should tell all customers that from the beginning! You will have to go back into the Roger’s ignite and change your name of internet as password in there not on all your tvs or anything else. Hope this helps ok.
Heard on news this morning that Roku had a breach. My Roku just would not scan for networks, nor could I click private network and use my info numerous times but nothing would start up my Roku. Been looking through all sorts of answers on Roku site regarding wifi connectivity issues. At the very bottom of the article, I found where it said you might have to just reset Roku manually. Tried for HOURS last night and again this morning! UGH!
Last thing article said was to just pull the power cord for a bit, then plug it back in again. Still trying to figure things out but at least I see my old Home page full of icons. Maybe this will help someone else.
Why isn't this the first thing said in the article? Feel ignorant for not thinking of this myself but - could you put the suggestion FIRST?
Hi @llcoollutz,
A warm welcome to the Roku Community!
We're sorry to hear about your experience that you can't scan your networks. We'd like to know more about how we can help. Does your device see any Wi-Fi, and it's only yours that isn't shown, or is it completely blank? Have you already tried rebooting your wireless network? Who is your ISP (internet service provider)?
For troubleshooting purposes, have you tried connecting your Roku device to an alternate wireless network, such as a mobile hotspot, to see if you are experiencing the same issue?
Please keep us posted on what you find out, and we'll be able to assist you further.
All the best,
Chel
