All the sudden won't connect to internet

I recently switched my modem (upgrade) and reconnected my tv which said excellent connection etc but would not check the (internet ) box.

After trouble shooting for an hour I went to my service provider app and split the bands (5ghz/2.4ghz). My phone connected perfectly to the 5ghz  but my tv would not. I'm guessing it had to do with the antenna and the walls between my modem and tv. I switched the TV to 2.4ghz band and it connected perfectly.

When splitting bands make sure you name them differently. Same password is ok.

@mangorosi

What is your Roku device model number.  You can find this in Settings/System/About.

If you cannot connect to your 5ghz band, verify that your new router is not using DFS channels (52-140).  Roku cannot currently see or use DFS channels, so you must either disable DFS if you have your 5ghz channel selection set to "Auto", or you can manually assign a wireless channel 36-48, or 149-161.
